Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
By Liz Johnston on 16 December 2016
Merry Christmas and happy new year! With the end of the year just around the corner the last few days have given us an opportunity to unwind and reflect on our accomplishments for the year (a very busy one at that!)
There have been numerous improvements made to the Estate including a new white granite ceremony area and top class conference facilities installed in the function centre. We have launched our Mobile Catering services; Lazy River Gourmet Catering Dubbo and purchased a delivery van to assist with catering. We are looking forward to 2017 with new opportunities on the horizon.
Thank you again for all of your support through 2016!
Our office will be closed from Friday 23 December 2016 through to Wedesday 4 January 2017.

Christmas Pop-up Markets
By Liz Johnston on 24 November 2016
Two of my favourite things, combined into a unique shopping event with over 80 stalls holders from our region. Well HELLO!
I am SO excited for December 11. I have saved all of my Christmas shopping for this day; finding treasures for all my loved ones. With the function centre open you can grab a cold drink (mine will be alcoholic) and walk around shopping for the day, discovering a combination of art, craft, design, gourmet food and live music all within one location.
With something for everyone, the markets are an opportunity for those wishing to buy handmade products and support local makers and small businesses.
Visit our Facebook page to view the stall holders.

Can't wait to see you all!

Catering Dubbo and Central West NSW
By Liz Johnston on 13 November 2016
Did you know that we cater? We have full mobile catering services available at our venue, at your home or even at another venue. It doesn’t matter where you are; if you require catering for your next event we can help! As leading event caterers in Dubbo and Central West NSW we focus on delivering what the client wants (and deserves) for their next function.
To make our catering a little easier (and more professional) we bought a CATERING VAN! What better way to tell EVERYONE what we do but to have a mobile billboard, constantly promoting our services!
You can order online or email events@lazyriverestate.com.au to place an order!
COMPETITION TIME || Take a photo with the van, post it on Insta, tag us and #lazyrivercatering to go in the draw to win a gourmet gift hamper to the value of $200! (Drawn 30 Nov 2016)

Supporting the locals
By Liz Johnston on 22 September 2016
Supporting locals is key! It is the locals that keep the wheel turning at Lazy Rver Estate and in turn we prefer to support local where we can. Paddock to Plate or Flavours on the Farm is a trending event concept seeing small and large local suppliers showcase their produce directly from the farm to the plate in events across the world!
The next Flavours on the Farm luncheon is being held at Lazy River Estate on the banks of the Macquarie River on Sunday 9 October from 11am and is showcasing four suppliers from the region including;
|
Second Mouse Cheese |
Tickled Pink Pork |
Grassland Poultry |
Mumblepeg Citrus |
We first started Flavours on the Farm in 2015 and since have held 5 luncheon showcasing over 10 local suppliers from our region. Each producer has a different story and relationship with their product. Previous suppliers include;
|
Extraordinary Pork |
Suspicious Squirel |
The Gourmet Goat Lady |
Badlands Brewery |
|
Little Big Diary Co
|
Brigadoon Harvest
|
Hereford Red Beef |
Black Gate Distillery |
|
Curracreek Figs |
Murrungundy Pistachio |
Midnight Down Preserves Narromine, NSW |
There are also a number of key businesses which help provide the goods (and knowledge) we need to bring it all together. Bourke St Butchery, Mick and Pauls Fruit and Vege, Midwest Foods and GH Cole - just to name a few!
Sometimes it is just nice to say THANK YOU. Thank you to all that support us whether is be attending, supplying produce or sharing your knowledge; we appreciate it all!
Tickets to the next luncheon are now onsale! Get it quick to avoid disappointment. Click here to get your tickets now

Sculptures by the River - Welding Workshop
By Liz Johnston on 25 July 2016
Last week I learnt to weld!!
We held our first Sculptures by the River workshop for 2016 which focused on building metal sculptures and learning the basics of welding and joining metals. Shane Alderdice led the small class of 9 at St John’s College and worked closely with all participants to create 9 amazing Sculptures. I’m pretty sure everyone could agree that the workshop was a BLAST!
The Sculptures by the River was the first of two workshops being held in the lead up to our Sculptures by the River Exhibition at the end of October this year. All of the Sculptures created in the workshop will form part of the exhibition and be on show for everyone to enjoy on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October 2016.
The next workshop is focusing on using recycled wood found on the banks of the Macquarie River and will see students build a life sized horse!
